About the Trainer
Karen Ng BMus(Hons), majoring in percussion performance and Jazz Piano. A percussion & contemporary piano tutor with the Malaysia Institute of Art, Sayfol International School, Sri Suria School, Sunwave Music, Summer Music Network and First Tone Music. She has helped several students understand the concepts of contemporary music. Many classically trained piano students & teachers have benefited from her training.
Karen has played with the National Symphony Orchestra (2004-2006), Malaysian Youth Symphony Orchestra (MPYO) (2006—2007), Putra Symphony Orchestra (2003-2006) and many other Middle school bands, She has also taken an active role in the International School of Kuala Lumpur’s middle school band festival, Flora Fest Malaysia, Heineken Jazz Festivals and the Muramoto Kein Hing Events (Vietnam).

About the Trainer...
Rosemarie de Vries was born and educated in Australia. She holds a teaching degree in English, Drama and Media and a first class honours degree (Asian Studies) from Curtin University. Rosemarie has taught English in China, Brunei, Australia and Malaysia, over a period spanning more than twenty years. She has worked as an English and Drama educator at all levels and lectured in Murdoch University’s MBA programme for three years.
Rosemarie has also conducted cross cultural training in the corporate sector. Her language training qualifications are extensive: she holds the Cambridge Certificate for Teaching English (CTEFL Credit) and ESL in the Mainstream (Credit). Her passion for bringing out the full potential of the student is matched by a willingness to adapt her training methods to suit the needs of the individual. Rosemarie brings a strong element of fun to her teaching and is strong advocate of the communicative style of teaching.

Intesive Course for Classically Trained Pianist in
different genres, trends, techniques and methods of
Contemporary Music such as Pop, Rock, Blues, Jazz
This full course is divided into 2 modules and the dates are as below:--
Module 1: 1st Dec 2009 to 4th Dec 2009 (10am to 5pm on each day)
Module 2: 15th March 2010 to 18th March 2010 (10am to 5pm on each day)
Venue: Sunwave Music 5-5, ONE AVENUE, Jalan Masjid PJU6A, Off Persiaran
Bandar Utama, Selangor.
Both modules are held during the School holidays and there will be assignments and pieces to be worked on between the modules.

Prof Dr. Josef Aronoff is a Hungarian born violinist, violist and conductor. He studied at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest with György Garay, Zoltán Kodály, György Ligeti, and in London with Max Rostal. He received scholarships to attend Master Classes with Joseph Szigeti in Switzerland and Maxim Jacobsen in Portugal. He is married to Julie Webber, an Australian concert pianist.
He has performed concertos under the conductorship of Sir Malcolm Sargent, Sir Adrian Boult, István Kertész, Norman Del Mar, Patrick Thomas and others in Europe, USA and Australia. He is also well known as an ensemble player with the Artemon, Philomela and Concertante Ensembles. He was chief conductor for the South Western Symphony Orchestra, the Allegri Chamber Orchestra and the Arioso Players. His name has been recorded in the Who’s Who in Music, International Biographical Center, UK, and Who’ Who in the World, Marquis Who’s Who, USA.
He has held senior teaching posts at the Royal Northern College of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Birmingham School of Music in the UK, Queensland Conservatorium of Music, the Darling Downs Institute (University of Southern Queensland), the Adelaide College of Arts in Australia and University of Sabah Malaysia. He is also a senior examiner for the Australian GUILD Music & Speech Examination Board.

About the Trainer
Lisa Leong has been teaching Speech & Drama successfully for past years and has been involved in several projects in local schools as well as private institutions. She has also had the experience of running a class of approximately 70 children or more. She was involved in “Mentoring Malaysia” a pioneer youth programme that aims to help troubled teenagers between ages 13-15 years by imparting positive values, positive outlook by positive role models. Ms Leong was called in to lend her expertise on “KIDs ACT”; a sub division of the programme that uses the performing arts as a tool to build confidence and character in these students. This programme is run by the Psychology Department of HELP University; ARCCADE (a non profit organisation) in partnership with UNICEF, the Ministry of Education of Malaysia as well as the Malaysian Nature Society
Lisa has a desire to share and impart her knowledge on the benefits of using Speech & Drama and she believes it will change and improve the quality of education. Besides assisting in developing language skills, it builds children in their confidence, social skills, and character, which are vital in their growing years. It aims to produce happy enthusiastic, confident, articulate, well-balanced children, which in turn improves their learning curve and equips them for the future
